Cosmetics often contain artificial colouring. Be particularly careful with lipstick.

Drinking Enough Water?

Check your urine – it should be the colour of pale straw, although some medication and some supplements will affect the colour. If it’s darker than that, drink more water.

Taking A Zinc Supplement?

If you’re taking a zinc supplement, don’t wash it down with tea or coffee, as these interfere with your body’s ability to absorb it.

Indigestion?

Chew food well and improve your digestion. Digestion starts in the mouth where food is physically broken down, and enzymes start to break down starch and carbohydrates.

Caffeine

Caffeine can increase anxiety and make it harder to relax. Wean yourself off coffee, tea and cola drinks gradually, replacing them with water, fruit juices and herb teas.

Give Your Heart A Treat!

When you don’t drink enough water, your blood thickens and your heart is forced to work extra hard. Make sure you drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Diarrhoea After Antibiotics

Antibiotics kill approximately 10% of your friendly gut bacteria. If you get diarrhoea after a course of antibiotics, take probiotics (live yoghurt or as a supplement) to replace them.

Tired All The Time?

If you’re tired all the time, ask your doctor or health professional to check for anaemia, thyroid problems, glandular fever and diabetes.

Sore Lips?

Do you use lip balm? Are you allergic to it? When you are allergic to something, you often crave it, so you use it more, But because you’re allergic to it, your lips get more sore and you use more. A miserable vicious cycle.

Feel Less Hungry

Chew food well and you’ll probably feel less hungry.

Chlamydia Infections

Many women with Chlamydia infections are symptom free, but if it’s untreated it can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), ectopic pregnancy and infertility. If you are sexually active, get checked for this regularly.
